I am currently in my fourth year at McGill University, however I am considered a U3 student as I had to complete UO. I grew up in Oshawa, Ontario before coming to Montreal for post-secondary schooling. I call Montreal my home now as I rarely return to my hometown, with the exception of Christmas or a summer visit to the family cottage. Throughout my summers in Montreal I work at the McGill Summer Sports Camp as a counsellor and a fitness specialist. During the school year I work several jobs at McGill Currie Gymnasium including, coordinating the intramural ball hockey league. I also coach a high school girl's basketball team at Sacred Heart School of Montreal. Lastly, I am very active within McGill athletics. I really enjoy it in Montreal and I can see myself teaching in this province after I complete my undergrad with only one minor worry which is my inability to speak french; I just don't get it!  Thankfully for my sake there is the EMSB. I am in Physical Education and I LOVE it. Sport has been a huge part of my life and it is what I love. I am in Physical Education because I enjoy teaching through sports and physical activity. My job is to make individuals adopt a healthy and active lifestyle which I think is a pretty awesome objective!

I have been involved with many different sports throughout my life with the most heavily focused being hockey and basketball. With the McGill Martlets women's hockey team I have won two CIS national championships as well as having one silver medalist finishing. In ball hockey I was a member of the women's Canadian ball hockey team, capturing two world championships. Presently I am a member of the McGill women's rugby team.  I am grateful to have played on many successful teams but winning a championship does not mean nearly as much to me as just being a part of a team. Sport has given me friendships and memories of a lifetime while helping me become a moral individual.

I am the youngest of 4 children by three minutes. Yes, I have a twin. She is identical to me and we fight a lot. I will leave it at that. My entire family is very supportive. Family gatherings are an enjoyable experience for me that I always look forward to. I am a cat person. Growing up I always had at least one roaming around my house. I like to think that one day I can become a dog person as the thought of being a dog owner seems very pleasing but as soon as a dog licks me or starts to jump up on me I quickly resort back to being a cat person. In my spare time I like to to be physically active, engaging in a wide variety of physical activity for fun. I love playing squash and golfing. I like camping and being out in nature going on hiking and biking trips as well as fishing and ATVing trips. I enjoy following professional sports. My favourite teams to follow are the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. I also like reading and doing crosswords. My favourite time of the day is sunrise when everything is quiet and simple. I think it is unfortunate that most people sleep this part of the day away. My favourite meal is breakfast, preferably eggs and bacon. I dislike money.

I have been fortunate to have had physical and health educators throughout my schooling years who have played an integral part in my life as role models and mentors. These educators have inspired me to become a physical and health educator so I can have the same influence on other individuals. I am passionate with the career choice I have invested in. My interests are in athletics and leading a healthy lifestyle and more importantly educating others not only in physical education but THROUGH physical education.
